Training on Inclusive Disaster and Climate Risk Governance held at Tuding, Itogon

 

Members of the BDRRMCs of Barangays Dalupirip, Tinongdan, and Ucab participate in the three-day Training on Inclusive Disaster and Climate Risk Governance held at the Itogon Training Center Tuding, Itogon. The training is the first of the three clusters of the rollout for the barangay DRRM committees of the nine barangays of Itogon. 

Through the training, the BLGUs are encouraged to promote a participatory and inclusive approach to planning, to implement, and monitoring their programs, projects, and activities, particularly their DRRM-CCA initiatives. Topics discussed are Basic DRR-CCA Concepts, CSO Roles in Local Governance and LDRRMCs, Disability, Gender and Age (DGA), Good Governance and Social Accountability, Partnership and Networking, Advocacy, and Leadership. 

The trained Champions facilitate the rollout training in Itogon comprising Municipal LGU staff from the MDRRMO, MPDO and Mayor’s office, Barangay LGU staff, and representatives of women’s CSOs with disabilities, older persons, farmers, and youth.
