We are deeply grateful to CERF and UNFPA for partnering with us in implementing this initiative, supporting a safe and dignified recovery for women and girls in Camarines Sur affected by Typhoons #KristinePH and #PepitoPH.For women and girls, the disaster didn't end when the rains stoppedโovercrowded evacuation centers often lack the privacy and security needed to protect them from gender-based violence (GBV). Such was the experience when Typhoons #KristinePH and #PepitoPH struck Camarines Sur in 2024.![]()

Through the support of the UN Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF), UNFPA in the Philippines established Women-Friendly Spaces (WFS) to fill this gap Golda, a facilitator at a WFS in Minalabac, is the frontlineโensuring that women, girls and survivors of GBV are heard and protected. ![]()

From referring survivors to legal aid to providing a listening ear without discrimination, Golda and her fellow facilitators ensure that no woman has to carry her "silent struggles" alone.![]()
