Despite the pandemic, Mountain View College (MVC), in coordination with Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA), visited Sitio Kilangi Elementary School, Lurugan, Valencia City, Bukidnon to give out school supplies to cater the students’ needs last September 18, 2020. Many of the dwellers of Sitio Kilangi are under lower-income status. Moreover, the pandemic caused many to lose their jobs. ADRA in cooperation with MVC provided the school supplies such as graded paper, notebook, art construction materials, one set colored paper, paste, erase, pencils, origami art set, colored molding clay, and crayons to the students of Sitio Kilangi Elementary School.
Casidy Tahud, a student of Sitio Kilangi Elementary School, shared his gratefulness for the supplies that he received that day. He verbalized that his dad left them when he was only a year old, leaving his mom taking care of all the responsibilities. Her mom’s salary as a janitor cannot supply all their family’s needs, especially this pandemic. Thus, Casidy and his mom are so grateful upon receiving the school supplies that MVC and ADRA shared.
For the next five years, MVC Community Extension Services Organization (CESO) will be working with ADRA and LGU Valencia in assisting the community of Sitio Kilangi, Lurugan Valencia City. We ask your prayers for the ministry that MVC, ADRA, and LGU Valencia City are doing for Sitio Kilangi, Lurugan, Valencia City, Bukidnon.
