Families continue to seek shelter in Evacuation Center

Days after Typhoon Kristine made landfall, many families remain in evacuation centers. ADRA Philippines recently provided food packs to families in Bula, Camarines Sur, where 20 of 33 barangays experienced severe flooding. Currently, 2,291 evacuees are still displaced, while data on additional displaced residents is difficult to gather due to the situation.

Challenges include limited power, limited communication signals, strong flood currents, and damaged computers in the disaster office. Immediate needs for evacuees include:

  • Hygiene and Dignity Kits
  • Clothing, Medical Supplies
  • Sleeping Materials
  • Cleaning Supplies
  • Child-Friendly Spaces (CFS)
  • Women-Friendly Spaces (WFS)

Senior citizens, persons with disabilities, nursing mothers, and vulnerable families in Brgy. Barobaybay, Magarao, Camarines Sur are receiving much-needed food assistance.

In every disaster, it’s often the most vulnerable—such as persons with disabilities, seniors, and other at-risk individuals—who bear the heaviest burden. The physical, emotional, and environmental stresses they face are far greater and can threaten their mental health and well-being.

This is why they are always prioritized in relief efforts, ensuring they receive support to meet their unique needs and help maintain their stability amid the chaos of recovery. Reaching these individuals first is essential to a compassionate and effective response.

We extend heartfelt thanks to every partner, donor, and volunteer who has joined hands to make this relief effort possible. Your generosity and compassion are essential as we continue reaching those most in need.

"Together, we can significantly improve the circumtances of these families"
