From June 23โ27, 2025, through a humanitarian initiative funded by UN CERF and UNFPA, and implemented by ADRA, cash assistance was distributed to women and girls across 11 municipalities in Catanduanes under the Cash for Health, Cash for Dignity, and Cash for Adolescents programs. Beneficiariesโincluding pregnant women, women of reproductive age, and adolescent girlsโwere selected based on specific vulnerability criteria, with all recipients endorsed by the Rural Health Unit (RHU), Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), and the Philippine National Police โ Women and Children Protection Desk (PNP-WCPD). The support aimed to help them meet essential needs such as maternal care, hygiene supplies, and menstrual health items.

Before the distribution, community partners were reoriented on the purpose and eligibility criteria, emphasizing the responsible use of the funds to prioritize their health, uphold their dignity, and enhance their protection.

Brief awareness sessions were also conducted on Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH), Gender-Based Violence (GBV) prevention, and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) to help promote informed, empowered decision-making.
This initiative was made possible through the support of Local Government Unitsโparticularly the Mayorโs Offices, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Offices (MSWDO), Rural Health Units (RHU), Human Resources for Health (HRH), VAWC Desk Officers, Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), the Philippine National Police (PNP), Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices (MDRRMO), and other community offices. Special acknowledgment is given to ARDCI, the designated financial partner, for ensuring the secure and efficient delivery of assistance.
Empowering women through cash assistance enables informed choices, safer pregnancies, and more stable households, key steps toward building resilient communities. It upholds dignity, reduces vulnerability, and supports long-term recovery.
