Building Climate-Resilient Food Systems Through Global Partnership

In a significant step toward advancing sustainable food security initiatives, international and local partners gathered in Manila from April 20–24, 2026, for a collaborative planning workshop focused on building climate-resilient food systems for vulnerable communities in the Philippines.

The workshop brought together representatives from Canadian Foodgrains Bank, ADRA Canada, Convoy of Hope, and eCare, alongside Philippine-based partners, to strengthen collaboration and align strategic priorities for future programming.

Throughout the week, participants engaged in discussions and planning sessions aimed at identifying key intervention areas, target communities, and practical approaches to address challenges affecting food systems, including climate-related disruptions, food insecurity, and limited access to agricultural resources.

The gathering also laid the groundwork for upcoming scoping missions that will be conducted in several regions across the country. These field assessments will provide deeper insights into local vulnerabilities, agricultural conditions, and community needs, helping shape a long-term program designed to support Filipino farmers and strengthen community resilience.

More than a strategic planning activity, the initiative highlights the power of partnership and shared commitment in promoting sustainable development and empowering communities to build safer, more resilient futures.
