4 local chief executives from the BLISTT areas – Tublay Mayor Armando Lauro, Sablan Mayor Armando Dacumos, Itogon Mayor Bernard Waclin, and Tuba Mayor Clarita Sal-ongan have signed the Memorandum of Agreement for Resilience, Innovation, Sustainability and Empowerment Project (RISE Benguet Project).

The newly launched project aims to reinforce and strengthen the resiliency and preparedness of communities to mitigate the effects of natural hazards and disasters in the BLISTT area (Baguio City – La Trinidad – Sablan – Tublay – Tuba).

Funded by the European Union, and implemented by ADRA, JVOFI, and CDPC, the three-year project aims to build and strengthen 21 CSO champions from the above mentioned target areas, gearing them up for a meaningful participation in policy and decision making in local development councils, towards resilient and sustainable communities in the context of Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation and on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management.
