ADRA Philippines Raises P35,000 for Lebanon

When the news broke out that a devastating explosion rocked Beirut, Lebanon on August 4, many around the world watched in horror and disbelief they saw a portion of the city shatter from the blast. In a city of 2 million residents, its estimated that as many as 500,000 people require assistance with immediate needs such as food, water and shelter. ADRA has a regional office and a country office in Beirut that were both affected by the blast, but this has not stopped their emergency response teams from being deployed to help those affected.

As a country that is prone to disasters, the Philippines has been the recipient of funds from across the ADRA Network on many occasions. But when the explosion happened, we saw an opportunity for us to reciprocate and support ADRA’s response in Lebanon.

We am proud to share that despite the COVID-19 crisis here, ADRA supporters in the Philippines have raised around PhP 35,000 to help support ADRA’s relief efforts in Lebanon.

We would like to thank everyone that contributed to this cause. May the Lord bless you all.
