More than 240 Barangay Health Workers, Barangay Nutrition Scholars, and Rural Health Workers actively participated in a two-day refresher training on 𝘼𝙙𝙤𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙅𝙤𝙗 𝘼𝙞𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙍𝙚𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙚.
This training was designed to expand and strengthen their knowledge and skills. Participants were introduced to innovative and effective methods to improve the quality of services they provide, particularly in effective, gender-sensitive, and age-appropriate counseling for adolescent girls and women of reproductive age.
Moreover, the curriculum covered current best practices in family planning, management of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), reproductive health counseling, and provision of services with compassion and cultural respect. The newly acquired skills are expected to broaden access to healthcare and strengthen community support systems.
Continuous support and recognition of the professional development of our healthcare workers are essential to achieving lasting positive changes in the health and well-being of the entire community. The success of this program is anticipated to bring about better and safer health, especially for girls and women in our community.
