Almost 1,500 families lost their homes and most of their possessions in Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila due to a massive fire that broke out in one the slum areas of the city. The fire occurred on November 11th and lasted for more than 7 hours. More than 5000 people were evacuated to different shelters around the area.
ADRA Philippines responded to the fire on Friday, 18th of November. 600 kitchen kits were provided to the families affected by the fire.
ADRA, in coordination with ACS, went to two of the shelters, where more than 3000 people have been residing since the day of the fire. Pots, pans and buckets were provided so that families can begin to recover after having lost most if not all of their possessions.
