SAGANA BIKOLANA: Achieving Abundance and a Future Free from Violence through Sustainable Livelihood
ADRA Philippines’ Project TOGETHER launched Sagana Bikolana in Naga City, Camarines Sur bringing together more than 25 female community partners from the project’s covered municipalities.
In partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Camarines Sur and the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Region V, Sagana Bikolana aims to enrich women’s knowledge in sustainable livelihood and entrepreneurship.
Some of the discussions during the event encompassed essential entrepreneurial qualities, startup requirements, and strategic insights to broaden market potential. This initiative seeks to strengthen the socio-economic development of women, aiding them in overcoming the challenges of poverty, abuse, and violence—an integral aspect of TOGETHER’s advocacy.
A trade fair was concurrently held where various women’s organizations showcased local products such as handcrafted items and delicacies unique to Bicol. Exhibitors engage in dialogue with participants, sharing business tips and strategies. The trade fair serves as a wellspring of inspiration for attending community partners, especially those embarking on their entrepreneurial journey.
Sagana Bikolana stands as a tribute to the National Women’s Month celebration, spotlighting the resilience and achievements of Bicolanas.
